Emergency Shelter and Youth Program
Everychild Foundation Emergency Shelter and Youth Program

The Everychild Foundation Emergency Shelter and Youth Program is open to any runaway, homeless, or at-risk teen (ages 10-17) who agrees to abide by the shelter guidelines and participates in the program. The program is set up to help youth deal with personal issues, such as anger or drug use.  We also make clear the dangers of street living. All of this is done to help direct youth toward positive and productive life paths.

A comprehensive scope of services is provided by the program and range from the basics of food and clothing to the more complex like individual and group counseling, medical services, legal help and long-term safety plans. After a participant graduate from the program, our goal is to make sure that the youth exit into safe, long-term housing, whether that is reunification with their parents or another appropriate arrangement.  A six-month aftercare follow-up period is also in place so that staff can stay in touch to provide whatever support the teen might need to stay on track.

The program is completely voluntary and youth typically have an excellent experience in the program due to the goal-oriented, supportive environment. If you or someone you know requires safe shelter, please call one of our hotline numbers above to connect.

Long Beach Youth Mental Health & Substance Use Prevention

At-risk youth face an array of dangerous situations including substance use, gang involvement, human trafficking; all which can lead to physical and mental health deterioration. This program will use a Comprehensive Youth-Centered Service Model, where youth receive comprehensive, individualized services that have been shown to interrupt the downward spiral among at-risk youth toward crime, suicide and other negative outcomes and redirect them instead towards alternatives for building safe, productive futures

The Long Beach Youth Mental Health and Substance Abuse Program has been designed to support the Youth Mental Health and Substance Use Program as described in the City of Long Beach residents in grades 6 through 12, within four Long Beach zip codes (90804, 90806, 90810, and 90813) and the project will target youth attending middle and high schools as well as community service providers located there.
